Divide Tour 2017

Guess what I was up to on Sunday night?

If you guessed that I attended Ed Sheeran’s second concert here in Mumbai, then you guessed absolutely correct!

I’m sure 99.99% of the population would agree with me when I say that you NEED to watch Ed Sheeran in concert at least once – because Ed Sheeran in concert is by far worth the money you’d pay for the ticket, the lines you’d wait in, and all the screaming and shouting of lyrics.

I last watched him when he was touring for Multiply back in 2015 (and obviously I blogged about it (go read about it, thanks!) – Shameless self publicity )

Ed Sheeran released his third studio album in the first half of this year and started touring almost immediately and thus when tickets for his Mumbai concert went on sale in July, I bought them! The concert started at 8 PM and he sang for 1.5 hours and I shouted out lyrics along with him with no tune whatsoever for the whole time.

I went alone for the concert (turns out I’m quite self sufficient that way) and recorded all the songs I had made up my mind to record! There is no comparison to Ed Sheeran singing live and with every song he just makes you realize more and more why it would make absolute zero sense to not be in love with him. He wore a blue kurta, similar to the one he wore last time and looked completely adorable – most importantly, he sang A-Team! A-Team was the first song I heard by Ed back in 2012 and the amount of love that I have for that song is not fathomable.

When he sang Dive, I completely lost my shit (so to say) – Dive is my favourite song off the new album, and then he sang Photograph as well – my favourite song from his previous album!

I had a massively amazing time and I would go back to his concerts any time of any day.

October Playlist;

This month has been really exciting for me, mainly because 3/5 One Direction boys released new music! The only upside of them being apart is that theres five times more music than usual. So here’s whats been on repeat for most of this month:

  • Too Much To Ask – Niall Horan
  • Dusk till Dawn – Zayn feat. Sia
  • Your Song – Rita Ora
  • I hate you, I love you – Gnash feat. Olivia O’Brien
  • There’s Nothing Holding me Back – Shawn Mendes
  • Seeing Blind – Niall Horan feat. Maren Morris
  • Boys – Charli XCX
  • Find You – Nick Jonas
  • The Night We Met – Lord Huron

Additionally, I heard three new songs yesterday and approved of them right away – Bedroom Floor by Liam Payne; Just Like You by Louis Tomlinson; Personal by The Vamps.

Have you been listening to any of these super addictive songs?

Where’s One Direction now?

Back at school, my best friend and I, we sat through every lecture discussing nothing other than these five boys. I clearly remember waiting eagerly for their second album, Take Me Home (2012) and getting through boring Economics lectures only by counting off days to the album release.

Then, I also remember being broken hearted when Zayn Malik left, and even more so when they all left each other. Now, technically One Direction is on a “break”, but seeing hows their solo tours are selling out, their songs are hitting off, and how they keep adding more and more shows – (the last One Direction solo show is on till September, 2018), there quite really is no chance of my favourite band coming back together. The only good thing that’s come out of this is the fact that we have tons of new music from all of them.

Here’s seeing how the One Direction boys have done for themselves 7 years after they were put together!

Harry Styles:

This dimple-faced, curly-haired boy has always been my favourite and it goes without saying that Harry Styles’ new music is my favourite new music! His self-titled album released back in May and has some of the most beautiful music ever. My personal favourites are Two Ghosts and From the Dinning Table.

Niall Horan:

Niall just released the music video for his new song “Too Much To Ask”, and I have to say, I’m in love! Niall’s released three songs, quite far apart from each other but all of them have been undoubtedly brilliant. Its about time people heard more of Niall’s raspy Irish voice. He also recently announced his album coming in October! (hyperventilating)

Louis Tomlinson:

Louis’ first single with Steve Aoki was titled “Just Hold On” and quite honestly, it instantly became my favourite song in December, 2016. His second single featured Bebe Rexha and was released a few months back. Its actually taken me a few listens to get used to Bebe Rexha’s voice (Louis’ is perfect!), but now I can truthfully say I listen to Back To You once every day!

Liam Payne:

From being my second favourite One Direction boy to my least favourite One Direction solo artist, I have to admit that I’ve not really taken to his new style of music. When Liam released Strip That Down amongst all that controversy about the One Direction lyric, (Go read!), it took me ALOT of time to actually start liking the song. I haven’t yet heard his second single, Get Low and quiet frankly, I don’t think I’m going to end up listening to much of Liam’s new music.

Zayn Malik:

zayn-malik-pillow-talk

Ever since Zayn left, I was always low key angry at him. How could someone leave such a perfect band that made perfect music? And then he started making comments and giving interviews in which he blatantly stated that he hated being with the band, that he was forced to make the music and that he didn’t really enjoy any part of it. Then, I hated Zayn Malik. How could you say all of that about something that gave you such a great start? Because of this, I never really took to Zayn’s solo career and thus listened to only a handful of songs.
However, his new song with Sia titled “Dusk till Dawn” is actually starting to become one of my favourites. I was quite hesitant in listening to this song, but turns out its actually quite great! And, it has Zayn singing high notes ❤

Living and breathing Harry Styles

The past two weeks of this month, other than all studying and cramming of A LOT of case laws, my two weeks have just been 24 hours everyday of Harry Styles.

I think everyone already knows this – but for someone who doesn’t, I have unreservedly been a huge fan of One Direction for years. And Harry Styles has been my sad, little weakness since I discovered the band in 2012. Harry Styles released his solo album on 12th May (GO LISTEN) and I fell in love all over again.

Starting this Monday (15th May), Harry Styles spent all week on The Late, Late Show with James Corden which meant that every new day it had a ton of new videos for me to drool over and cry about. There’s something unique about being a 20 year old adult and still obsessing over boy band material: You feel no shame whatsoever in making the said boy band material your phone’s wallpaper.

Since the last few days have just been all Harry Styles, I have also been just asking everyone I know to watch the sam videos that I have been watching on repeat all day (also, all night)

Here’s one of my absolute favourite videos of him, singing my favourite song from his album and wearing smashing clothes and making me really emotionally frustrated.

Harry Styles: Two Ghosts

If you haven’t yet listened to the album or haven’t been fully convinced to watch any of the above said beautiful videos, take a look at this;

'The Today Show' Citi Concert Series, New York, USA - 09 May 2017

I mean, do you know of other really, really cute singers today who can pull this off?
Do yourself a favour: Listen to Harry Styles, and then watch the videos and then watch as you transform into an emotional and sexual mess.

Happy Holi!

It’s the festival of colours and I’ve just returned back to my hostel after a very, very, very tiring day(s)!

The past three days, our college had its National Debate Competition (for which I was a photography volunteer), and we worked non-stop from 9 AM – 9 PM and it was tiring and crazy. Since today was Holi, first few hours of the morning went in to prepping for the mass attack of colours that we’d be victims of. This thus included painting my nails black, oiling my hair and arms and face and getting rid of all kinds of jewelry. After that, all of morning and afternoon went into crazy water and colours celebration, and pictures and the first half of the evening went into removing all of that colour.

At one point during my shower, I was legit confused as to whether the colour in my hair was the holi colour or my pre-coloured hair. As a result, I have specs of pink all over my auburn hair.

All in all, the last few days have been hectic as hell and all I really need now is a nice, big vacation (going home, maybe?), but on a positive note, HAPPY HOLI GUYS!

I SAW COLDPLAY LIVE!

Hi hi hi!

Yesterday night was The Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. Back in September when tickets were being sold, my dad and I tried are hardest to get them but couldn’t and I was completely and fully heartbroken. And then on Tuesday of this week, I won tickets to the festival! All throughout when I wasn’t going to go I tried to convince myself saying that Coldplay will probably just perform a few songs, or perform for a few minutes, but in reality, I knew If I didn’t end up going I would cry and die and then cry again.

But I went for it! And it was the greatest experience of my life. A life changing experience. A once in a lifetime kind of a thing. An experience I strongly believe everyone needs to live through atleast once in their lives, and then twice, and then thrice and then spend all your life’s earnings on it.

The Festival started at 1:30 PM and Coldplay came at 8:30 PM, but God I’d be lying straight if I said it wasn’t all worth it. There were a few other artists and performers that I was super excited about, but no one that could compare to Coldplay.

The Vamps performed as well and I LOVED watching their cute little faces all over again. My three favourite members of The East India Comedy performed and I love seeing their faces again as well! And then Coldplay performed and my life can’t honestly get any better.

They sang for two hours. TWO HOURS. They gave us a proper concert and I cried at various parts some of which included when Fix You ended, when Chris Martin sang in Hindi! (went to Heaven and came back!), and when they sang A Sky Full of Stars.

I jumped and sang and screamed and recorded and took pictures and LOVED, LOVED it to another level. 90% I have no words to describe the feeling this brilliant feeling that this brilliant band gives me every single time they sing. I knew I would cry and I cried. And I was right when I said I couldn’t go without not watching them live and them breaking up. I’d rather die than watch Coldplay break up.

They sang every single song I’d dreamed of listening to live and I can’t wait to go again. My only single regret was that my brother couldn’t come because I would’ve given anything to make him experience this with me.

Nothing in my life will ever live up to a Coldplay concert which why I strongly think everyone on this planet needs to watch them. And if you’re not a Coldplay fan I don’t know why you exist, go review your life choices.

I had the best, best, best night of my life and I don’t think I’d even forget it.

Overcrowded Spaces and Happy Music!

Hi you guys! I had such an amazing night yesterday I think I’m going to cry while reliving it!

I went to watch The Vamps performing! (They’re one of my favouritesssssttttttt bands)

So, recently The Vamps collaborated with this Indian music producers duo called Vishal-Shekhar and released a song called Beliya (which I LOVE), please go listen to it and love it along with me :”)

WATCH IT WATCH IT WATCH IT

After the release of this song, they made the best decision any band I love could ever make: They decided to come to India!

So, The Vamps are here, in the same city as me, breathing the exact same air and living in the very same timezone that I live in! (I don’t sound like a 20 year old any longer)

And thus I went and saw them! They performed at his place called The Hard Rock Cafe in Andheri(W) and I went by myself, but God, I had such a great, great, great time! Once they came and started singing, I was transformed into a squealing 13 year old hormonal girl and I have zero apologies for that.

The performance wasn’t as long as I’d want to see their perfect faces for ( ideally, all my life ), but but but, it was beautiful! I sang and screamed and took pictures and was so so content and proud of myself for going. Towards the end of their performance, James took of his shirt and blessed us all with his beautiful bod. Heaven x 69

Here are some of the pictures from my amazeballs night! ❤
