Week Three!: Domain Name and Blog Theme

So this is Week 3 of Ateenagediaryonline’s project! And this is another week of me having no clue about the topic. However, here’s my post for her project:

In all honesty, I really do not know anything about domain names. I remember being really small and seeing this advertisement of a domain website(GoDaddy) and thinking it was a dating site! So clearly, I had no clue what domain names were and I still don’t. But here’s a definition: A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet.
I didn’t understand any part of that definition so I’m going to skip to the next part of this topic! Blog Themes! Almost all blogging websites have themes. There are millions on wordpress itself. So a blog theme is basically how your blog looks, where everything is located, and the functionality of your blog. Obviously, blog themes are used to make your blog look more attractive and pretty and eye-appealing. Now, I can’t remember what theme I’m currently using. However, I did use the Chalkboard theme once. There are many different themes available on wordpress and many for premium users as well.

Head over to her blog to see her amazing project and participate in it 😀

The Characters Book Tag

I’ve once again been tagged by LaLa’s Blog for yet another Book Tag 😀

Who is the best kick-ass character?

Minho from The Maze Runner Series. He’s one of the only sassiest characters I’ve actually liked.

Which character do you most dislike?

Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter, because who does not?

If you could date any fictional character who would it be and why?

Quentin(Q) from Paper Towns because he was great and cute and a lot of fun and I really, really need a person like him in life.

If you could change a character in any way what would it be?

Alaska from Looking for Alaska. She was great, but I always felt she might’ve been a little bit selfish. Everyone gave her so much, especially Miles and she just didn’t seem to want to give anything back.

What character to you made all the wrong choices that didn’t add anything to the book?

Saboor from And the Mountains Echoed. Right from selling his own daughter for money to probably every single thing.

Out of the five books you have chosen which character was the best villain whom you love to hate?

Gally from The Maze Runner series. For a villain in the first two books, I’ve probably learnt to love him very much.

Favorite side-kick character with the most heart?

Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter.

What is your favorite fictional romantic relationship?

Amy and Dorrigo Evans from The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

What character did you think was the strongest?

Nico from the Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus Series. He was constantly doubted by atleast one person throughout both the series and in the end, he was definitely my favourite character.

Best protagonist?

Clay Jensen from Thirteen Reasons Why.

How To Get Away With Murder Winter Finale

If law school doesn’t kill me anytime soon, How to get away with murder definitely will.
The winter finale premiered a few days ago and I just finished watching it 20 minutes ago. You’re desperately waiting for the winter finale of any show because it will answer so so many of the questions you’ve had throughout the season. But no, not How to get away with murder.

All How to get away with murder’s winter finale does is make you sit in shock for five minutes till you start throwing your pillow away in anger because now you don’t have to wait just five minutes for another episode but 2 months!

Now I can’t actually review the episode because it’ll give away a million, million, million spoilers. Just know that you’re going to be an angry boiled potato till 2016 if you watch the How to get away with murder winter finale.

The Book List- Part V

The year’s almost ending and so here’s four more books I’ve read in 2015;

17) Mightier Than The Sword by Jeffery Archer

This book is the 5th and the latest installment in the Clifton Chronicles series. Jeffery Archer has been releasing one book per year like clockwork since 2011. This series is one of my favourites and now I’m eagerly waiting for Book six. All of the books are left at major cliffhangers and so was this one.

18) Parker Pyne Investigates by Agatha Christie

Another Agatha Christie! Though most of her short story books are really interesting, I didn’t find this one very good. It wasn’t her usual mystery novel but rather had Mr. Parker Pyne dealing with household problems and problems of the heart. Not a book I enjoyed very much.

19) Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

The book is about a teenage girl who commits suicide and then leaves thirteen reasons why she does it. It’s his debut novel and a New York Time Bestseller and absolutely gripping. Hannah Baker tells her story through the words of Clay Jensen amazingly and this book was also one of my favourites this year.

20) The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie

By far the most complicated book I’ve read this year. Though it was a really short book, it took me almost three weeks to finish the book. But if you see past all of his complicated writing, the book is completely beautifully written.

Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

I was tagged for this Book Tag by the super amazing LaLa’s Blog. This is the second one she’s tagged me for and it sounds like great fun 😀

Here goes!

1) A popular book you didn’t like!

animalfarm

2) A book or series that everyone seems to hate but you love

3) A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person that you didn’t want, or an OTP(one true pair) that you don’t like.

Thomas and Teresa from The Maze Runner. I have utter and absolute hatred for Teresa and I very much hate the two of them together.

4) A popular genre that you hardly reach for;

Science fiction. I’ve always tried to start reading sci-fi books, especially Stephen King’s books, but I’ve never really been able to.

5) A popular or beloved character that you don’t like

Teresa from The Maze Runner. I haven’t been able to get myself to like her even a tiny miny bit.

6) A popular book troupe you’re tired of seeing in books(love triangles, corrupt rulers, etc.)

Love triangles, definitely. They never seem to end and more and more books have them increasingly.

7) A popular series that you have no interest in reading.

Week Two!: Blogging Platforms

o-apple-keyboard-facebook1

This is my second post for Ateenagediaryonline’s Project! This week’s topic is Blogging Platforms and I’m super late in doing this, but here it is now!

In all honesty, I know absolutely nothing about Blogging Platforms. I’ve heard about various different ones(Blogspot and others), but I’ve only ever used WordPress. From what I’ve seen, WordPress is really easy to use. Once you register, you get instructions along the way and information on how to use every single feature. There are various layouts and WordPress also provides you with a sample post. It’s also a really great platform to get to know various other bloggers and make some really great friends too! Though many features may be paid, the most basic tools you need to start a blog are all free and real easy to use. And that is all I actually know.

Fall Time Cozy Book Tag!

I’ve been tagged for this by LaLa’sBlog and I’ve never done something like this before! And since it seems really, really awesome, here goes!

In India, we don’t really have four seasons. It’s just summer and winter all year around, it’s a weird country that way. Anyhow, I shall not turn down book tags!

Crunching Leaves

The world is full of colour. Choose a book that has reds, oranges and yellows on the cover.

Cosy Sweater

It’s finally cold enough to don warm cosy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Fall Storm

The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favourite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.

Mystery and crime thrillers, by far!

Cool Crisp Air

What’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

Fred Weasley, because why not?

Hot Apple Cider

What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

I don't know about around the world, but I haven't met a single person here that actually appreciates this book and it's my second favourite John Green.

Coat, Scarves and Mittens

The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?

NONE! All my book covers are so nice and pretty 😀

Pumpkin Spice

What’s your favourite fall time comfort food/foods?

Umm, since we don’t really have a fall season, I’m not entirely sure. But maybe any kind of sponge cake?

And Finally! Time to Tag!
